Originating in Austria over twenty years ago, natural swimming ponds are designed to resemble a natural landscape feature that blends into its surroundings.
The swimming area is usually profiled to various depths and water is circulated from the neighbouring shallower regeneration areas. Through the symbiotic relationship between naturally occurring microbes and plant life, the water is virtually self cleaning.
Because the regeneration areas are usually shallow, water is warmed more quickly and natural swimming ponds are therefore partially self warming.
Natural swimming ponds are very low maintenance with no requirement for chemicals.
Over the last seven years our Senior Project Manager, Martin Hough, has probably been responsible for the installation of more natural swimming ponds in the UK than anyone else and his experience in this area ensures that each project is successfully installed.
With a starting price of around £25,000 for a family sized pool, natural swimming ponds provide a beautiful and ecologically sound alternative to traditional swimming pools.
